Pauly, Dr. Ira

Football - 2004

Ira Pauly was a football and rugby star at UCLA from 1951 to 1953. Ira’s 1952 and 1953 Bruins lost a combined two games (by a total of 3 points). The ‘53 team won the Pac-10 and played Michigan State in the Rose Bowl.

* In 1953 was the recipient of the UCLA Spirit and Scholarship Award.
* Named Los Angeles Jewish Collegiate Athlete of the Year by B’nai B’rith in 1953.
* First string offensive center selection to the First-Team GTE College Academic All-America Football Team, in 1953.
* IN 1952, awarded the Captain Don Brown Memorial Trophy for Most Improved UCLA Football Player.
