Southern California Jewish Sports
Hall of Fame

The SCJSHOF was formally established in January of 1990 by a group of dedicated Southern California sportsmen and sportswomen. The Organization was co-founded by Eli Sherman, former All-American basketball star and Los Angeles JCC sports director along with Joseph Seigman, who also founded the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame located in Israel.

The Hall of Fame honors men and women–– athletes, coaches, officials, media, executives, and certain others––at the professional, collegiate, high school and community levels of sports.

The Jewish Sports Hall of Fame of Southern California also supports the quadrennial World Maccabiah Games in Israel, JCC Maccabi Games, and the Allan Malamud Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Currently in our 30th year, the SCJSHOF has honored over 300 Jewish men, women and teams who have played a significant role in shaping the sports history of our community.
