Tellem, Arn

Sports Agent - 2008

Arn Tellem is recognized as one of the most influential and respected sports agents in the world. During his career as a certified player agent, he has negotiated some of the most lucrative and high profile contracts in National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball history.

In 2006, Sports Business Journal designated Tellem the “Most Influential Agent in Sports, and The Sporting News named him “Most Influential Sports Agent”. In 2004 and 2005, he was the only NBA player agent named to The Sporting News’ “50 Most Influential People in the Sports Business”, and was recognized as the industry’s top agent by TSN in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

Under Tellem’s leadership, just in recent years, his management team has negotiated long-term multi-million dollar contracts for the NBA’s Ben Wallace (Chicago), Tracy McGrady (Houston), Joe Johnson (Atlanta), Pau Gasol (Memphis) and Jermaine O’Neal (Indiana); and New York Yankee MLB stars: Jason Giambi, Mike Mussina and Hideki Matsui, and the Philadelphia Phillies’ Chase Utley.

Tellem founded his Los Angeles-based Tellem & Associates in 1980. The company was acquired ten years later by SFX Entertainment, Inc., where he served as Chief Executive Officer of SFX Sports. He is currently President of Los Angeles-based WMG Management, one of the nation’s leading athlete representation firms.

Prior to his career as an agent, Tellem was a partner at Manatt, Phelps and Phillips, where he specialized in sports law and commercial litigation. He also served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for the Los Angeles Clippers 1982–1988.
